Can I add my own recipe?

Yes! Go to Profile → "📝 Custom recipe" — there are two ways: a simple version where just a name is enough to use right away (private to you, no waiting), or a detailed version with full ingredients, steps and a photo that goes through pregnancy/postpartum safety screening + human review before going live for everyone. A simple one can also be "promoted" any time — we'll hand-craft it into a real published recipe for you.

Are there recipes for gestational diabetes?

Yes — turn on "🩺 Low sugar" in the planner's ⚙️ preferences panel, and the plan will steer away from high-sugar dishes. These are editorial tags on a home-cooking library, not medical advice — please follow your doctor's or dietitian's guidance for your specific plan.

Not enough recipe choices when I try to swap a dish?

The recipe library keeps growing, so swap options will keep improving. You're also welcome to add your own go-to dishes via "Submit a recipe" — a bigger library means more to swap between.

Why do some recipes have no photo?

Recipe photos are added by hand, one at a time — a dish without one yet just shows an emoji placeholder. It doesn't affect the recipe content, and photos keep getting filled in over time.

How do I add MumEat to my phone's home screen?

iOS (Safari): tap the Share icon → "Add to Home Screen". Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu → "Add to Home Screen" / "Install app". Once added, it opens straight from your home screen like a regular app.

Are recipes only Chinese cuisine right now?

Right now the library is mostly Chinese home cooking; other cuisines are on the roadmap. If there's something specific you'd love to see, tell us via Feedback below — or submit your own recipe for it.
